NX-01 hides behind a moon near the red giant Azatitular Prime. Numerous Xindi ships and satellites form a detection grid protecting their Space Modulatohr. Travis and Trip resume their work on the insectoid shuttle found in "Hatchery," and Hoshi equips the shuttle's translator. Off on an "erratic" flight path they go, banging into NX-01, and pass through the detection grid. Meanwhile a moon-based facility spots Enterprise; Archer targets and obliterates the three operators from orbit.

Trip and Travis plunge underwater and proceed to the weapon. (Can't all this underwater stuff feature an aquatic Xindi? Ya think?) They JUMP back aboard where Malcolm describes the death star exhaust hole. Everybody volunteers to pilot a bomb but Archer, tired of ordering death, orders his own. He exits Command Center straight to Twilight Zone where Daniels (rats, and the episode was going so well too) shows him a space battle from Ten-Fourhundred Forward aboard a sleek Enterprise-J. He worries that the anonymous sphere-builders with their terrible power to examine alternate timelines, are spilling from their transdimensional realm. At the Battle of Procyon V the Federation drives them back, rescuing the Xindi.

Daniels sends Archer back with some Xindi family medal to prove his story. T'Pol doesn't want Archer to die. Archer dumps Porthos off on Phlox, coldly like sending Trip out earlier, and reminisces about their mission of exploration. "Of all the captains that will sit in this chair, I can't imagine any of them being prouder than I am right now." Swell. He heads into the grid and is quickly captured. In the Ready Room T'Pol breaks down and starts crying. Trip tells her she's needed on bridge so she orders him out. Weak Vulcan female.

Fond memories: Archer gets a severe beating from the Reps, trading amusing barbs and interesting facts. Their best fact is that NX-01 has been detected and will soon be dust. Archer seeks Degra's help and barely persuades him they're fighting the same enemy. After discussing a "she" who dealt with the Detroit Reps, Degra suggests they may not know who the real enemy is (CUT TO T'POL - naah, the writers aren't that good). The Reps grow tired of waiting and strike at the earth ship anyway. T'Pol crawls from her simpering long enough to attempt abandoning ship but the attack interrupts her. She returns to the bridge to see Enterprise all shot full of holes, leaking coolant, crew, and atmosphere- and possibly many viewers too, if they touch a reset button to get out of this.
