Suspecting the blueskins of building a Xindi planet-buster, Evil Pointy gambits a gift planet to the Andorians disguising a sneak attack. Evil Pointy muses, "Is it logical for us to wait for that day?" (Evidence would be nice for normal Vulcans, but these are, well ...) He screams the Kir'Shara does not exist and orders the "radical insurgents" eradicated. Archer leads T'Pol and T'Pau out of the Forge, using torches though seventeen years ago they used light wands. Reed and Captain Trip detour to warn the Andorians since "we're already involved." Malcolm relays crew misgivings of their mission; Soval encourages Trip despite same.

They contact the Andorian Task Force hiding inside a nebula. Soval is ignored while Shran tells Trip he has a poor choice of friends. Shran comes aboard and is warned of the attack; he returns to notify his superiors. T'Pol informs T'Pau of her Panar Syndrome; T'Pau refers to it as "another lie" and cures it with a hot lesbian mind meld. (Why is this ritual done in English?) Shran kidnaps Soval to determine the truth using an emotion-inducing machine. Tracking Vulcans accost AT&T; a katra-summoning Archer fights with lirpa and neckpinches. He and T'Pau escape while T'Pol is captured and lies through her teeth, misdirecting the tracking Vulcans, one of whom served under her, to Mt. Seleya.

As the crack-torture continues, Soval advises Shran to forgo his mercy. This persuades Shran but his superiors want Enterprise to join in the defense. Phlox declares a returned Shran fine as the mounting suspicion and lies become too much between the two races. The tracking Vulcans are shocked by some stupid "galacite fragment" lightning; Archer nerve pinches again (was McCoy just too weak?). As twelve Vulcan cruisers arrive way cool out of warp, Enterprise moves between the fleets to buy time. They beseech the Vulcans to discontinue the attack but Evil Pointy threatens any that disobey and a ferocious fight ensues. Shran protects Enterprise and notifies Trip to tell Archer, "That's two he owes me."

T'Pau tells Archer they need access codes to beam into the High Command; Archer gets some from Koss. Once inside he activates the relict to display Surak's writings, and a subordinate shoots Evil Pointy. Everyone gets ready for a few changes ("Time for Earth to stand on its own"). Koss releases T'Pol from her vows and Subcommander Tal becomes Surak's katraceptor. But one final scene shows Evil Pointy meeting a Romulan anticipating the reunification of their peoples. Guess we have to wait for that!
