Some columns ago I recorded my list of TOS episodes ordered from (my personal) favorite to (my personal) worst. It's just what Trek fans do. Once upon a time I did the same for TNG; if ever I drive back into those I may have to examine and reproduce it. It's not fair for me to review the other series as I haven't seen them entirely - whoa, save TAS (wait for DVD!). So, having finally finished all my ENT viewing I decided to do the same for Series Five. It's not like there weren't a bunch of stinkers in here - there are - but overall I was surprised in retrospect how many of these put a smile on my face.

To be sure there are some I don't ever want to see again but there are also others, usually close to the top, of which I doubt I'll ever tire. (Though if I do, expect their position to shift a bit. This is not the final copy.) I chose to break up the multiple episode "arcs" into separate titles in order to demonstrate preference for some pieces rather than others. The entire third season presents a problem since it's mainly just one large Xindi arc in which many of the more enjoyable inner details may blur over several episodes, making comparisons easy but distinction more difficult. Interesting that production values don't value into this evaluation at all - it's all about being memorable.
