LUNAR INSERTION TIMING
About half way there (~140M) click HLD to release automatic attitude control. Make sure the "Target" indicator goes red to indicate lack of hold.
Click INV to compute an inverted trajectory (not yet held!). Depending on your zoom level you may or may not see the trace.
Watch the PeT indicator instead. In an inverted trajectory your ship will decelerate to a halt then reverse, making a giant u-turn.
The plan is to solve the timing visually. When the giant orange u-turn approaches the Moon, click HLD to re-engage automatic attitude control.
Your ship should re-orient itself and begin decelerating towards the Moon.
LUNAR ORBIT INSERTION
At this point perform any necessary course adjustments as before. Keep in mind your thrust is now behind you.
If you've done it right, the Moon will pass as you slow to orbital speed. Circularize, align, or land as desired.
WELCOME TO THE MOON!
